More than 25 Singapore members and their familes had a great long weekend last week as the club put on the 2009 Singapore F1 driver's parade and static display. The second year in a row for us but interestingly for a while 2009 was not going to happen as the F1 organisers were content with a bus to parade the drivers around instead! Luckily an opportune meet with the F1 organisers at some drinkies and a little egging on our part reignited the idea, such that with just under a month to organise we found ourselves asked to present the parade!

Turns out the head office of F1 agreed that vintage cars were a much better way of presenting the drivers than a bus! Our team put on a fantastic show and were able to grab a few minutes chat with their F1 drivers and a few autographs as well.

Feedback from the organisers was effusive and the crowd certainly voted with their hands...and cameras. For a moment there on Sunday the MSVCR vehicles must have been the most photographed cars on the planet.
