16 Singapore members and their cars attended the Tanjong Pagar Tree planting ceremony on the 8th November. Members cars from the 1930s uptil the 1970s were on display at the event which started mid afternoon going on till the evening. Aside from the tree planting ceremony itself, the event featured entertainment, food stalls and displays from various government and grass roots bodies. Our members were in for a special treat when the Guest of Honour, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew met with members and posed for pictures with the team. Especially of interest for the MM was one of the cars on display; Khoo Yeow Khim's 1955 Mercedes-Benz 220a as this is the same model once owned by the MM himself! There was a look of delight on his face when he approached the car and shook Yeow Khim's hand.
