With the recent announcement of changes in rules regarding the display of ‘road tax’ stickers in Malaysia, there has been some online debate about compliance with rules by drivers in club events. It is the committee’s view that, as road users, members have an individual responsibility to ensure their car is taxed, insured and safe for use on the public road. Clause 5 of club rules describes
“ungentlemanly or unladylike behaviour prejudicial to the interests of motoring…[or] the association” that can result in caution, suspension or expulsion from the club. To be clear: the committee regards any failure to comply with, or reckless disregard for, the road laws of Malaysia/Singapore as ungentlemanly or unladylike behaviour!
